Overview

Napa Auto Parts it's a business that focuses on all kinds of auto parts products, services, and more. Napa has a very strong community in its social media, good mobile web and they have also a complete Mobile App for Android and IOS systems.

Problem Statement

For the redesign of the NAPA Auto Parts website, I did an expert evaluation of the website. Users need to find the auto parts they are looking for easier and faster, so I recommend doing a card sorting to evaluate the categories again in order to keep users less time searching for parts. Also, we need a more clean design to create a pleasant user experience.

RESEARCH PHASE

 Research

I conducted user interviews to build new personas and to inform the design. I prepared an interview script with 7 open-ended questions, focusing on our target audience’s values, motivations, and routines. We referenced the user interview findings throughout the entire design process.

Understand the interaction of the user with the website when searching for a product or service, and see what they think about that interaction.

What did you do?I did an interview with 3 users, interviews were made by Zoom and it took around 10 minutes with each participant
What did you Ask?I had 7 open questions ready for those 3 participants. Of the 7 questions, some interesting questions were the following:● Have you ever tried NAPA Auto Parts Website?● What comments can you make about the Napa website page?● Do you consider it hard or easy to find auto parts on the NAPA Auto Parts website?
What did they Say?Most of the already tried Napa Auto parts in the past, they consider the website kind of old design and they find it hard to find auto parts.
What did you Learn?We should recategorize the sections for products, and services, and try to have a cleaner design.

I did a Competitive Analysis SWOT with 3 different companies related to Napa Auto Parts which are AutoZone, Oreilly's Auto, and a company that sells mostly online through an e-commerce store named CarParts.com

We wanted to form a deeper understanding of our users' goals, needs, experiences, and behaviors. We created 1 persona and were based on the 3 user interviews and surveys.

Expectations
● Journey goal of Aaron is to find auto parts easily and fast and also not to feel so overwhelmed when he is navigating the website because he feels it's too busy
Goals● Eliminate one of the options on the website where the user needs to enter 2 times the same car● Add a button or some link so user can see the detail page and check other processes with the same issue

User Stories

As a User of this website, I want to see a design not too crowded so I can enjoy spending more time and been there looking for auto parts

As a User of Napa Auto I would like to be able to find a product easily and fast.

As a User of this website I don't want to enter 2 times the same vehicle every-time I'm looking for an auto part

As a Owner of this store I want to give the best satisfaction to my customer so they can come back to look and buy what they need for their cars.
