CASE STUDY
Problem Statement
How might we create the checkout process, and at the same time we need to add a catalog for products with personalized t-shirts and caps colors, sizes, etc? Also, we need to choose the gateway payment we are going to use that better fits the online store.

Duration
The duration of this case study will be 2 weeks from research to prototyping.
I conducted 4 user interviews with different people to know more about the points of view of each participant on the HOM Designs website.
Some of the question we conduct to the 4 participants was: ● Have you tried other similar embroidery and printing websites? ● What were your impressions of homdesigns website?● What would you change, add, or remove from this website ?
Some of the answers were...● I would like to see a t-shirt and caps color options.● Minimize the text amount on the home page.● Instead of using only one page and scrolling down, I recommend using a page for each section.
I learned that we can offer lots more options to the user like adding images of the t-shirts and caps in different colors so they can see the differences between them. Also, minor things like we use huge pictures and fonts that don't match the design, we need to make a revision on that also.
Stakeholder Interviews
We interview Gloria, a 49 years old, graphic designer, who is the Company Manager of HOM Designs. These are some quotes we get in the Stakeholder Interview.
"Our target is Small local companies searching to promote their businesses"
"My website is currently not accessible for orders, there is no product catalog offered by my business, and we don't accept payments online yet like CashApp, Paypal, etc."
"Create a layout that is easy to navigate when visiting the site"
User Interviews
We did a User Interviews to 4 participants and below you can see some of the main questions we did to our participants
1. Have you used the HOM designs website before?:2. Have you tried other similar embroidery and printing websites? 3. What were your impressions of homdesigns website?4. What would you change, add, or remove from this website to improve it?
Conclusion from User Interviews
User 1: Christian
● I like that we can upload files to your website● The website was easy to go through.● YouTube icon is not working, Include a TikTok icon instead.● I would like to see a t-shirt and caps color option.
User 3: Stephanie
● There is a lot of information written on the home page which takes time to read.● The font and color don’t match when used on a mobile, the layout and fonts change. ● It would be good to minimize the text amount on the home page.
User 4: Aaron
● I don't like the way it looks on the website, too square and very simple. ● The worst thing is the mobile pictures are huge and the font doesn't match the website on some pages.● Instead of using only one page and scrolling down, I recommend using a page for every section.
High-Fidelity Mobile App
We did a Usability Test to 2 users and this are some feedbacks we had
On the Mobile App in the dashboard we need to add a search bar and/or direct links to all products on sale
After the user place an order of the product, we need to add a button so client can be able to upload their files, The files need it to make the embroidery or screen printing for the product client bought.
To conclude I can say that I learned a lot from HOM designs. I learned that a good categorization of the sections can offer the user an easier and more pleasant user experience. I learned that we should use more images than text on mobile screens using the correct images to represent each section or button. I' going to keep doing usability test and I'm sure I will be updating this case once a while.
